On June 3, the world’s strongest competition climbers faced off in Vail, Colorado during the IFSC Bouldering World Cup’s only U.S. stop. The women’s division saw close competition. The four leading women all topped three problems, with the results coming down to number of attempts. In the men’s division, Japan thoroughly dominated. While Korea’s Jongwon Chon took first, Japanese climbers claimed seven spots in the top 10. Alex Puccio placed highest among U.S. competitors, landing in fourth place in the women’s division.
